Saturiova, a Timucua leader of Florida, in an original engraving by Teodoro Viero of Venice, dated about 1790. The plate has parallel captions in Italian and French: "Saturiova, Re della Florida nell'America Settentrionale in atto di far Sacrifizio alli Dei prima di andare alla guerra" and "Saturiove, Roi de la Floride dans l'Amérique Septentrionale au moment de sacrifier aux Dieux avant que d'aller à la guerre", with the line "Apud Theodorum Viero Ven." at the lower right.

The figure stands in profile, looking over his shoulder, with his body covered in tattooed patterns and a tuft of feathers and a topknot on his head. In his right hand he holds up a shallow bowl, and in the left a long spear. An animal pelt hangs at his waist, a fire burns at the right, and bare hills close the horizon. The sheet is printed in black.

Viero was a Venetian engraver and publisher, and his plates of the peoples of the Americas relied on printed sources, since neither he nor his readers had seen the lands depicted.
