Florida women in mourning and widows sowing their hair, a copperplate engraving from Les Cérémonies et Coutumes Religieuses de tous les Peuples du Monde, engraved by Bernard Picart, from the 1723 edition according to the earlier listing (no year is given in the record). Two scenes appear on one sheet.

The upper scene is lettered in French: women who have lost their husbands in war come to beg the king's help, and the hermaphrodites are described as attending the sick and burying the dead. A tall man with a feathered headdress stands at the left with a staff before a row of crouching women with long loose hair, while two figures carry a body on a litter in the background. The lower scene, "Veuves de la Floride, qui sèment leurs cheveux sur les Tombeaux de leurs Maris", shows women scattering locks of hair over graves among trees, with bows and snakes on the ground.

The scenes rest on the sixteenth-century French accounts of the Florida peoples.
