Antique print titled 'S. Nilus a D.N.I.C. Crucifixo ipsi apparente benedictur, et ab impuris tenta tionibus prorsus liberatur'. Scarce plate showing Saint Nilus, kneeling in prayer; in front of him a crucifix; Christ comes alive. This print originates from 'Picturae Dominici Zampierii, vulgo Domenichino, quae extant in sacello sacrae aedi Cryptoferratensi adjuncto tabulis aeneis incisae' published 1762.
Artists and Engravers: Made by 'F. Bartolozzi' after 'Domenico Zampieri'. Francesco Bartolozzi (Florence, 21 September 1727 to 7 March 1815, Lisbon) was an Italian engraver, whose most productive period was spent in London. Domenico Zampieri, known as Domenichino for his shortness (October 21, 1581, April 6, 1641), was an Italian Baroque painter of the Bolognese or Carracci School of painters.
